Allen was an associate professor: Landscape Architecture, Louisiana State University; Film and Communication, Cleveland State University; and Landscape Architecture, University of Colorado Denver. Recovery projects in New Orleans since 2005; and Jacmel, Haiti 2010 to 2014. Partner in, Design Jones LLC, with Diane Jones Allen, receiving the 2016 ASLA Medal of Honor for Community Service Award.
