Hayes Buchanan

Hayes Buchanan is a second year Master of Urban Planning candidate at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. He also holds a BFA from the University of Georgia in graphic design. Hayes' research traces the influence of power on the status quo in cities, examining the effects of path dependency, misaligned incentives, and unrepresentative forms of participation in the planning process. His interests include resilient design, disaster risk management, cycling, politics, and international development.
