Traci Birch is a coastal planner with a focus on community resilience and ecosystem management. Her research focuses on slow and sudden onset environmental vulnerability and innovative methods for community risk reduction. Her work in urban planning and environmental management has been supported by the Gulf Research Program of the National Academy of Sciences, the Water Institute of the Gulf (RESTORE), the Gulf of Mexico Alliance, and the Department of Homeland Security.
