Cassandra Shepard is a graduate student at Northwestern University, completing her dissertation entitled, "Wash. Rinse. Repeat: the Post-colonial in Post-Katrina," which critiques the continuum of colonial practices laden in New Orleans' rebuilding process. She has also been an instructor at the School of Art Institute in Chicago, where she created and taught courses on both Disaster Theory and Reproductive Rights.
