David Rifkind is Chair of the Department of Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design at Florida International University. His current research deals with urbanism and architecture in Ethiopia and Eritrea from the late nineteenth century to the present. He is the author of The Battle for Modernism: Quadrante and the Politicization of Architectural Discourse in Fascist Italy(2012), and he co-edited A Critical History of Contemporary Architecture with Elie G. Haddad (2014).
