Brian L. McLaren is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Architecture Department at the University of Washington. The broad focus of his scholarly research has been on the relationship between architecture and politics during the Fascist period in Italy, with particular attention to the colonial situation in North Africa. He is the author of Architecture and Tourism in Italian Colonial Libya: An Ambivalent Modernism (2006)
